Τhe e-Learning Lab of University of Crete was founded under the name “Laboratory for Advanced Learning Technologies in Lifelong and Distance Learning” within the Dpt. of Primary Education UoC. Since its foundation, the e-Learning Lab has major contribution to the educational community by offering distance learning programs for the professional development of teachers, connecting the local community through Lifelong Education and encouraging exchanges of best practices among educators and other entities regarding the pedagogical implementation of ICT.
‘The Smile of the Child’ (TSoC), is the largest recognized non-profit organization in Greece in the critical field of child protection, search and rescue of missing children, support of children and families with children in need, as well as free public health services for children, both in prevention and in treatment. TSoC provides its services nationwide, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, to every child & family in Greece, regardless of ethnicity and/or religion, free of charge. Over its 27 years of action (established in 1996), TSoC has made the difference for more than 1.915.496 children & their families in Greece. Its scientific personnel (social workers, psychologists, educators, trainers, communication officers, administrative staff etc) and more than 4.000 active volunteers create a substantial impact.
TSoC aims at the holistic support of the educational community (students, teachers, other school staff and parents), through education and training activities that make use of the latest technologies, addressed on issues that directly concern children’s rights regarding their daily life and their future, such as: the beneficial use of technology, development of digital skills, protection against school bullying and cyber bullying, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, gender stereotypes, sexual violence, harassment, and school dropout.  A team of specialized psychologists are permanently conducting training sessions with teachers and parents on the subjects of: Domestic Violence / Abuse including Sexual Violence, School Violence / Bullying, Abuse over the Internet, good and bad use of technology, gender equality, non-discrimination and hate speech.

European Parents Association- EPA has been the only EU-level organisation representing parents as a stakeholder group in education since its foundation in 1985. Through our 25+ member organisations we have a nearly full coverage of Europe as we have working contact with almost all EU-member states, while we have members from some non-EU countries (e.g. Serbia) as well.
The main objectives of EPA, reaching out potentially to 100 million European parents:
– to promote and advocate for the active involvement of parents as primary educators at all stages of the education of their children,
– to support parents’ associations and individual parents for stakeholder involvement in different European countries by offering opportunities for training, cooperation and exchanging information,
– to support the highest possible quality of education for all children in Europe especially by active involvement in EU-level policy development and assessment, representing parents towards the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and other European institutions and in several networks.
– to disseminate relevant European information among its members.
