EPA – European Parent’s Association presented project at the Digital Citizenship Education Forum organised in Strasbourg on 27-28 May 2025 within the framework of the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025 to mobilise key stakeholders across Europe and beyond to adopt a common vision and commit to effective and tangible action.

WIth key message “Let’s Act Now!” the Forum gathered international experts, policy makers, educators, practitioners, government representatives, members of academia, public sector and civil society organisations as well as parents, carers and youth to discuss innovative initiatives in the field of digital citizenship education.

Through plenary sessions and parallel forum talks, the Digital Citizenship Education Forum provided a platform to enhance private, public and civil cooperation to strengthen the implementation of digital citizenship education.

Topics for discussion included:

  • fostering democracy through digital citizenship education and youth’s contribution,
  • addressing online disinformation and cyberbullying,
  • parenting in the digital age, and
  • the role of tech companies in promoting active and responsible citizenship.

The Forum also provided an opportunity to discuss the development of the road map 2027-2031 for the future of digital citizenship education and identify its key elements in line with the objectives of the European Year 2025. Innovative solutions to tackle current challenges in the implementation of digital citizenship education will be discussed during the Forum and key actions for the road map will be outlined.
